About Me
When my parents moved our family to Clayton in 1992, just before the start of my senior year in high school, none of us could have imagined that this community would become the center of my world. But Clayton has a way of doing that.
I married my husband Chris right here in Clayton, in a backyard wedding ceremony surrounded by neighbors who would become lifelong friends. A few years later, we bought our home in Clayton to raise our family in this remarkable little city. From school plays and after-school sports to chorus shows and art displays, our children Haley and Alex wove us deeper into the fabric of this community with every passing year. Those connections with teachers, coaches, and fellow parents all over Clayton have turned our love for this city into a commitment.
My mom, Vicki, still calls Clayton home. When my dad, Bob, passed in 2015, she built an addition above the garage so she could stay close to my sister Erika's family next door. That's what Clayton does: it keeps people here.
For at least fifteen years, you've probably seen Chris and me at The Art & Wine Festival and Oktoberfest, pouring wine or beer, selling tickets, and enjoying every minute of it. As an active member of the CBCA, I've cheered for this community's success. In 2024, Chris and I opened our home for the Clayton Historical Society's inaugural Halloween Tour, and this year we were honored to be featured on their Annual Garden Tour. Clayton isn't just where I live, it's who I am.
My Background
I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and built my career in commercial real estate with a focus on property and asset management, financial analysis, budgeting, capital projects, leasing, and risk management. I was fortunate to spend ten years learning from the best mentor I could have had: my dad, Bob Sexton, a seasoned broker, and acquisition specialist for over forty years. Dad taught me to be firm but fair, to listen carefully, bridge differences, and deliver results. Those lessons have guided my career ever since.
For the past five years, while managing office buildings in the Shadelands area of Walnut Creek, I've also served on the Board of Directors of the local Property & Business Improvement District (PBID). That experience gave me real insight into governmental affairs and the inner workings of a well-run city. I'm also currently involved with the Diablo Valley Tech Initiative's exciting 680 Innovation Corridor project.
